Hi Alan,

The current Fareed Zakaria podcast on 9/11 events included a segment that pointed out that there’s one country in the world that truly has a good balance on democracy. You know what country that is and you should feel proud. According to the modern philosophy, the “let them theory” - note that people who are toxic should be left to their own devices, while you joyously embrace yours.

I’m proudly walking along beside your country’s role modeling and hope that we regain our own democracy.

As long as we continue to invest in the long term strategy laid out in the Torah, the arc of history will bend in our favour.

If we accept who we are, what of transformation?

Alan Morinis's avatar

We need to accept the truth of who we are at this moment because that connects us to reality. Anything other is an illusion. But that does not mean we have to be satisfied with that. The beginning of changing is accepting the reality of where we are right now, as the starting point for working on ourselves.

Last time you wrote about Wendell Berry and he died a few days later. Oy.

Yes, and Wendell Berry’s passing is a good example of the distraction I am talking about. Had there not been a deliberate flooding of the zone by the powers that seek to distract, I might have written a tribute to that great soul.
